A Lot About Asparagus
Low-calorie and fibrous asparagus, which regulates blood pressure, cleans the digestive system, energizes and is known for antiaging; also offers versatile delicacies
How to keep Asparagus Fresh?
In order to preserve the freshness of asparagus for a longer period of time, I have two recommendations:
Standing up in a jug of water in the fridge
Place the asparagus upright in a container, where you put water at a depth of 3-4 cm (like a bunch of flowers), and store it in the refrigerator. Don't let the tips get wet. This way you can keep them fresh for at least 10 days.
Freezing
To store it longer, you can freeze the asparagus. After cleaning, blanche in boiling water for no more than 1,5 - 2 minutes and shock in iced-cold water. Then you can freeze in a refrigerator bag.
Don't wait too long!
Don't forget to discard 2-4cm from the bottom before cooking fresh asparagus, and peel the bottom half if it is thick and fibrous!
